ABOUT US
Hi, my name is CJ Knight. The Masie knight Memorial Scholarship program was started after an amazing women passed away. Masie Knight fought breast cancer for almost 3.5 years at a very young age of 27 years old. She was a true inspiration and leader in all of her efforts while fighting cancer. Masie was a huge outdoors person, who loved to fish and hunt.
Since her death in 2005, Shane Mckee (Masie’s Younger brother), has offered scholarships to students in the local Talladega School District in her memory. The scholarships have surpassed 80,000$ over that tenure.
In 2017, I took over the scholarship program and created an event to help raise money for our students. We are very proud to serve high school graduates in our local community with these opportunities. In 2022 the Masie Knight Memorial scholarship fund program official became a 501(c) nonprofit organization. Masie asked one thing of her family, and that was to never let her legacy be forgotten.
Masie was a mother to 2 boys, myself (CJ) and my younger brother (Jacob) Masie was an extreme advocate for helping other while fight cancer. Her fight with cancer led to many trails and tribulations. Prompting her to share with thousands of people, who still are impacted to this present day. She truly was a community leader/activist.
